Candle Holders
Buying a house warming gift for a first time buyer can be both the easiest and most difficult present to buy. On the one hand they will probably be grateful for just about anything, but on the other hand, they also want to put their own stamp on their first home so it can be tricky to pick out the right style.
Bearing this in mind, we would recommend going for something small and functional. We are thinking rustic vintage throws, candle holders or even some tupperware (we have to admit at Rustic Disguise we do love a good tupperware set!). As long as the item is functional and can easily be stored away we are sure they will love it.
Hand Stitched Cushion
We’ve all been there, the couple who have it all invite you to the house warming party of the century and you don’t know where to start with regards to gifts and presents! We have to admit, in these cases our preference can often be for a simple bottle of wine, but if you are wanting to go for an actual present, a lot will depend on your budget. For instance you could go all out and buy them a vintage storage chest or even a chandelier. The problem with these items is if the couple don’t like what you have bought!
Therefore, our preference would be to go for something a little smaller but more personal, you could go for some hand stitched cushions, a charming lantern or even some vintage crockery. Whatever you do go for, make sure the present you buy fits in with their current style, otherwise it’s likely to end up in a charity shop within a week!

Our personal favourite idea is to buy a photo album and fill it with pictures of the happy couple, you could even add in a few of the two of you! If this is a little too personal you could go for a hook for their keys or some vintage storage tins for their kitchen or bathroom. Either way, we are sure you will get it just right, after all, they are your best friend!
